  • Unique:  Unlike most pests, theses flying, stinging pests have two pairs of wings
  • Environmentally helpful: Stinging pests entire diet consists entirely of other pests.  Farmers have been known to deploy wasp colonies onto their farmlands to stop pests from eating their precious crops.
  • Nest Locations: They can nest about anywhere in and around your home; they prefer to be hidden away and that’s why you find them under eaves, in the corners of windows, under decks, railings, between cracks in the pavement, spaces between walls, attics, basements and crawl spaces.
  • Colony Size:  Colonies can number up to 20,000 to 60,000 depending on the type of pest.  For instance, queen honey bees can lay up to 1,500 eggs a day.
  • Colony Lifetime:  A colony can live a relatively long lifetime.  Drone bees live around 24 total days, while the queen bee may live as long as 2 years.
  • Do-it-yourself-ineffectiveness:  Stinging pests can particularly difficult to control considering their wide range of placements of their nests.  Wasps and bees love sweet food items and meats.  This is why they tend to be around your outdoor summer barbeques and family gatherings.  Make sure garbage cans are sealed and that food items are not accessible to these flying pests.
